What is

Pre-K Counts?

The Pennsylvania Department of Education is committed to ensuring that all children begin school ready to learn. In July 2007, Governor Rendell expanded access to Pre-K services by including in the budget an additional $75 million for the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Initiative. Pre-K Counts is designed to offer high quality pre-kindergarten services to 3 and 4 year old children in the state of Pennsylvania. Pre-K Counts will best serve the needs of children and their families by making programs available in a variety of settings that capitalize on the expertise of established Early Childhood Programs, such as local school districts, Head Start and Child Care Centers.  FCCA, in cooperation with Titusville School District and Meadville Cooperative Preschool will provide Pre-K Counts services in  Crawford.  All services are free of charge and meals will be provided during attendance hours. Pre-K Counts will also work with families to ensure children's health, social and nutritional needs are met. All partners have access to a licensed dietitian and/or training to help in the planning of nutritionally appropriate meals and snacks.

Our Mission

The Mission of the FCCA Pre K Counts program is to provide a safe, nurturing, high-quality Pre-K experience for children, families, and the community that will inspire and foster a lifelong partnership and love of learning.
